the outsider

my neighbor from upstairs
claims that
God sticks
post-it notes on his
fridge overnight

I did ask him
what they said but
he only told me that I'll
have to follow
him to church if
I want to find out

I'm generally not a very
curious guy
so I declined
and, what do you know, few
days later I see
lots of other
people following my
neighbor to church

They all looked the
other way when
I passed by them and said hi

Thing is
I don't even doubt
God spoke to my neighbor
through post-it notes
and gave a lot of people hope

I just
like being the outsider
more than I like
being hopeful

  1. I’ve read all of your poems below but for some reason the “like” button ignores me. So, let me just say, that you are a little troubled but a lot fucking talented.

    You are the real deal.

  2. I thought I’ll write down a comment after going through all your posts (oh boy you’ve got a lot). But delving into your poetry has inspired me (dark shit is my inspiration) and I gotta say something.

You’ve got a gift here. I explore poetry everyday on the internet, and everything is good and all, but this… your poetry hits me a little different. What else do you do besides this blog? Do you use this talent of yours somewhere else? Excuse my questions, I’ve got that interviewer instinct.

Anyways, I’m here, waiting to read more from you. ♡

  3. Brilliant piece, DR. Being the outsider has its advantages. You know the old saying “don’t dip your toe until you know”. Thank you for following Eugi’s Causerie II.

  4. Awesome Poem. Nobody ever comments on my blogs. Why is it nobody likes me? Good job on having so much fans. I wish I also had some fans. I wish someone had once commented on my page. But they never do. Maybe they do it and I never see it. Anyway, take care I came around to say hello and leave. It feels so lonely here sometimes.

  5. We’re obviously not doing something right. Maybe an occasional prayer might help bring the post it angel. to our fridge. I assume it’s an angel that does the grunge work. Bit below He who sits on high……reckon?

            1. If I do, I’d like God to put on it the most brilliant, most complex text-based emoticon in existence. That’ll be nice.
